About Me

A Visual Storyteller

Hello everyone, my name is Hunter Holloway, and I am primarily a nature photographer. It has always been one of my favorite hobbies throughout my life. I revel in being able to go to incredible places and capture the scenery there. Especially when I am done editing it and I think about how neat it is that I was able to capture that moment. Likewise, I love looking back at my past work and comparing it to my current work to be able to visualize how far I have come along and how my photography has progressed.

I remember the first time I touched a DSLR camera was back in freshman year of high school. I took a photography class and was given my grandparents' old Olympus E-500, an eight-megapixel camera that I still own to this day. At the time it worked great, I was able to take it on my hikes and I would photograph aspects of the hike that I thought were appealing. I used it for my photography class, and I quickly began to enjoy the hobby. I eventually upgraded to a Canon EOS Rebel T7. Along with it I bought an 18-55mm lens and a 70-300mm lens. It has only been recently that I started to try and develop my skills into something greater. I began doing research and watching videos on how to help improve my photography which has helped me get to the place I am in today.

As I continue my amateur journey, I take with me the lessons I have learned either from other people or through my own actions. I find the best way to get better at something is not to sit back and do as much research, but rather to jump right in and go hands on to really understand what you are trying to learn. Which is why I have always prioritized getting out on location. Have a look at my past work, and feel free to reach out with any questions or comments.
